Fundraising

How to get involved

There are lots of ways to get involved in helping Missio Scotland fundraise.

Regular giving
One of the most popular ways is to give a monthly donation via a Standing Order, directly to our bank account. We use Standing Order because it gives you, the account holder, control over the donation you make, and it is free to use, unlike Direct Debits, which have a cost attached. Call or
e-mail to arrange information about Regular Giving.

Prayer groups
Prayer groups are also a fantastic way to fundraise and send

your prayers to those in need. One local volunteer collects

50p each week from each member for helping train priests. So far this has raised over £20,000—a tremendous amount!

Online shopping

Did you know that you can donate to Missio Scotland while doing your online shopping and it doesn't cost you a penny? Well it's true. One of the ways you can do this is by registering with Amazon Smile using the following link: https://smile.amazon.co.uk/ch/SC014858 After having done that, every time you make an eligible purchase Amazon will donate 0.5 per cent of the net purchase price—excluding VAT, returns and shipping fees—to Missio Scotland at no extra cost to you.

Alternatively, you can use the easyfundraising site to shop online with more than 3300 well known online stores like Argos, John Lewis, ASOS, Booking.com, eBay, Boden, and M&S and when you make a purchase, the retailer sends us a free donation, at no extra cost to you. To that end you can visit our page on easyfundraising by heading to: https://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/missioscotland and clicking ‘support us.’

Bucket collections
Bucket collections and collecting cans are available to host your own collection. Missio Scotland can apply for the correct permits and organise helpers too. Please allow 12 weeks for the permit to be approved.

Individual events
Run your own event in your school or parish! Coffee mornings, crazy hair days, cake sales, raffles and race nights are all great ways to spread the word of Missio Scotland, have fun and raise funds. We can help every step of the way, from booking the venue to getting prizes.

Mission Sunday
Worldwide Mission Sunday is the biggest fundraiser Missio Scotland has in the year. This year Mission Sunday takes place on on Sunday October 21, 2018 and there will be a special collection at Mass for Missio Scotland. You can help by delivering an appeal in your parish. We can provide all the information you need to do this.

To talk about any of the ways to Get Involved with Missio Scotland, please give us a call on: 01236 449774 or e-mail us at: office@missioscotland.com

Please help to support us in our work in whatever way you can, and please pray for those in the missions where there is turmoil, poverty and uncertainty.
