St Aidan's have Missio in cheque

ST AIDAN’S Primary School in Wishaw were the latest school to present Missio Scotland with a cheque as a result of their fundraising efforts during Lent. The morning assembly began with hymns and prayers to mark the beginning of the Month of Mary and saw Missio Scotland candles form part of the school’s beautiful altar. Gerard Gough, Communications Officer for Missio Scotland was then informed by Sandra McLean, the school’s headteacher, about the variety of ways in which the pupils had raised the fantastic total of £350 for the charity. “There was a cake and candy stall, a crazy hair day and even a staff car wash,” Mrs McLean said. “There were raffles too. St Denis' pupils dig deep during Lent

CARING pupils at St Denis’ Primary School in Dennistoun recently presented Missio Scotland (above) with a cheque for £383 as a result of their Lenten fundraising efforts. Each year, during Lent, the Glasgow school’s Pastoral Care group help to organise events that take place every Friday during the six weeks of Lent. They decide on two charities that they are going to fundraise for, and this year they chose Missio Scotland as one of the beneficiaries. The group created posters advertising the events each week and asked the pupils to bring in 50p to participate or a tin for the local foodbank. Children the focus of CEME 2018

MALTA was the most recent country chosen to host the European Holy Childhood Conference (CEME), an event which takes place every two years. The gathering brings together all those who work within the Missionary Children (Holy Childhood) sector of the Pontifical Mission Societies—the Pope’s official charity for overseas mission— throughout Europe (above), to share their knowledge, experience, ideas and materials.
