Missio Scotland in Secondary Schools

Pope Francis in this year of extraordinary mission tells us that we can declare 'I am mission.' "Evangelisation is the primary mission of the Church," Archbishop Philip Tartaglia stated in a recent meeting with Missio Scotland.

We hope that our Secondary School resources (below) can be used in line with the Liturgical Calendar and the experiences and outcomes of This is Our Faith to assist Religious Education teachers in enabling young people to understand more fully the mission of the Church throughout the world. These initial resources are intended for young people in S1-S3 with PowerPoints and units available to be used at the discretion of class teachers. If you are a teacher and feel that these can be used in your department please share with us the work produced by the young people.

Keep an eye out for our Caritas Missionary Leadership retreat programmes that are delivered with the collaboration of our Religious orders. These sell out fast and are limited to a maximum of 40 pupils.

Moreover, if you’d like Martin—former RE teacher in Cardinal Newman High School and St Mungo’s Academy—to visit your school to share the work of Missio Scotland or are interested in our annual mission experience programme ‘Get Involved Globally’ feel free to contact us: martin@missioscotland.com
